As CBD continues to grow, many people ask what is CBD. CBD (cannabidiol) is the second most important active ingredient of cannabis (marijuana). CBD comes from the same plant as marijuana, however, the compounds are entirely different. THC, the main compound found in marijuana, is the part of the plant that gets you high. CBD is separated and extracted from the cannabis plant, which is derived from the hemp plant. The hemp plant is in the family of the marijuana plant.
